Amalie Arena is great!

Great singers … terrible sound

While the 3 singers we saw are all amazing artists, there was a major issue with the sound system. The upper speakers were not working and the echo was terrible … at least for those sitting at the top of the theater. The sound was ok for the songs, but I (and everyone around me) could not understand anything that was spoken. My friend went down to share the issue, but the problem was not solved. Another issue was with a strong spotlight that was directed upward straight in people’s faces. It was very uncomfortable. My friend also reported that issue. The light was turned off about 10 min later, but then it came back at some point during the concert and stayed on for a while before being turned off again. Unfortunately, we had 2 people behind us who were singing on top of their lungs and could not stay in tune. They overpowered the voices of the singers. All in all, I liked the choice of songs from the singers and their performance, but the elements were against it.

A-MAZING!

My daughter and I attended the Christmas concert as a gift from my husband. We have followed Phil's worship journey since he began playing at Green Valley Summer camps. My husband and I have loved his parents' worship albums back in the day as well. We were totally blown away by the entire stage layout, video screen above the stage, lighting, sound, CBU choir and confetti bombs to end the show. His guest artists really enhanced the show. I mentioned to my daughter that we are so moved by his performances because he literally "worships the Lord in spirit and in truth". He has been gifted with a voice that delivers you into the presence of the throne. We were pleasantly surprised to see him perform solo most of the evening as it was Phil we paid to see.
